Mitsubishi Repair: 90 eclipse no spark on 2,3,4, voltmeter, autozone

Question
I have a 90 eclipse 1.8l sohc. It has spark on no. 1 cylinder but not 2,3,and 4. I changed out the distributor but still no luck. It may be another bad distributor but just thought I would check. Thanks.

Answer
John: Check engine light on? Could be a bad sensor or sensors someplace or even you computer. You should have your car coded, AutoZone will do that for free and it would rule out anything like a sensor or the computer. You know don't you that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company. That company did not build very good ones. A piece in the computer will start to leak, with time kill off the computer. So that might be more your problem. Because you are getting stark on cylinder one but not two, three or four. So I was going to say distributor but you replaced that. Then I thought of the coil, but it would not let one work and not the others. So I am thinking computer. I shall check around and see what I can find out. But mean while get your car coded. Got a repair manual for your car? You should get one, it would help you with things. You can buy a repair manual at any parts store for around $20.00 and well worth the money. If you can not get the car to an AutoZone with a repair manual and a voltmeter. You would be able to find out if everything is working as it should and find the problem that way. But you need the repair manual to tell you the right readings that you should be getting. Hope this helps and good luck!
