Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 MITSUBISHI GALLANT GDI TIPTRONIC - ENGINE WARNING LIGHT NOT GOING AWAY, mitsubishi gallant, computer diagnosis

Question
I NOTICED THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS ON COMING UP. CAR WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SERVICED; GAS FILTER, OIL FILTER, OIL WERE CHANGED. ONLY THE AIR FILTER WAS NOT CHANGED. I TOOK THE CAR FOR A COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND WAS TOLD THAT THE INJECTORS WERE PARTIALLY BLOCK AND WOULD NECESSITATE A COMPREHENSIVE AND COSTLY CLEANING. THE CAR IS RUNNING SMOOTHLY DESPITE THIS. CAN YOU SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WHAT WOULD YOU ADVISE.

Answer
Paul,
A cheap, and easy solution would be to try some high quality fuel injector cleaner solution.  You can buy this at most stores that sell auto parts.  Use premium fuel as well, and that may help clean and unclog your fuel injectors.  If after a few tanks of premium fuel does not help, you may want to get a second opinion from another mechanic if they feel an injector cleaning would be necessary.
Good luck!
