The only sensor I changed was the Temp. control. All the others tested alright according to the manual. I just can't figure out why ALL of the sensors are showing bad? I think you might be right about the ECU. Next chance I get  I will have to check it. Thanks

-----Question-----
I took the car to the dealer and had it checked. the codes were 12,13,14,21 and 25 I think. It's been a while. Everyone is a sensor, so I bought the Haynes manual and checked all of the sensors. Autozone cannot check an 0BDI system, they do not have the proper dong for the reader. Also I have changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. Still at a loss??? I even pulled the fuel return hose off the regulator to see if fuel shot out while trying to turn it over. Once it turned over the excess fuel did release. Please any other help is appreciated.

-----Question-----
Car has a hard time starting cold. You have to keep turning it over until it starts to run, but only for a few seconds and then dies. After this happens a few times it will start and stay running. What would cause such a strange behavior like this? The warmer the weather the shorter the time.

Rich: Got an AutoZone close by? They will code your car for free, I think I would do this to rule out any problem with sensor(s) and or the computer. Once you have done that and know anything like that is the problem. Then how old is your battery and it's cables? Would have the fuel system checked out; might be something not working right there. And you should give your car a tune up as your distributor rotor could be carbon tracked. I got these ideas out of my repair manual. My son had a car like your's that was very hard to start when cold, in his it turned out to be two sensors out. So that is why I thought you should have you car coded. And AutoZone does do that for free. Hope this helps and good luck!

Rich: Did you replace the bad sensors then? Each one of those codes is a sensor. 12 is the Volume air flow sensor, 13 is the Intake air temperature sensor, 14 is the Throttle position sensor, 21 Engine coolant temperature sensor and 25 is the Barometric sensor, two of those sensors were the very ones that were out in my son's car. Once he replaced them, reset the computer; his car started. He bought his two sensors at a junk yard for his car, because new they cost an arm and a leg. If the codes read those are bad or out; you have to replace them with new or different ones. As for the computer, you could take the radio out and check it yourself. Useing a voltmeter and that manual. Or else they say once you take the radio out or get close to the computer; if it is bad. You can smell it, as it smells burnt. If you have to replace that, there are companies on line that will rebuild it, buy a new one or get out from a junked car. But got to get the same one that your car has now. I mean model, year and engine. You need to reset your computer if you put in all those sensors. You take the neg. cable off the battery, wait 5 minutes and then put it back on. The engine light should go out and the computer should reset it's self unless it is bad. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hey take care and hope you get your car running!

Answer
Rich: I was told you have to have the same computer that your car needs, as what you took out of it. Though the numbers are different maybe they have different numbers for the same computer. But I don't know that for sure and you are spending a lot of money on this computer. So you better call a Mitsubishi dealership and see what they tell you. Once you buy that computer most places will not let you bring it back for a different one, so you best be right. So call the dealership and ask them. Hope this helps and good luck!
