Mitsubishi Repair: Smoking Mirage., mitsubishi mirage, 1997 mitsubishi mirage

I own a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage, with about 190,000 miles on it, and recently I have noticed that I have blue smoke coming out of my tail pipe. I check the Oil every day and I keep it in check. Is the car burning off alot of oil or something? and how do i repair this problem?

Stephen: You don't say but is the car useing a lot of oil?Blue smoke is a sign of oil burn, I would say that your car might need an overhaul as your piston rings are getting old. I would have the car tested to make sure your head gasket has not blew, can you see water in the oil? Or have you seen that your car might be heating a bit, or loosing water? If the head gasket has blew you will have to have that replaced, but if not then I would say a rebuild engine. But take the car to a shop, they could tell you better. I can only give you ideas.
