Mitsubishi Repair: 00 Eclipse power loss, defog, voltmeter

Question
Hi,
A couple days ago I tried starting the car - no go.  It would turn then eventually nothing.  Turned out to be battery so bought one.  Worked fine then started to notice that every once in while when in neutral idling the rpm would drop, lights would dim and 10% car would die. Then by luck I noticed that this only happens when I have the front defrost on. As long as the defrost is off, the car runs perfectly as soon as I turn the defog on the car begins to loose power (lights dim and rpms drop almost stalling the car)

Any ideas

Answer
Omar: Hello. Listen I would say you have a short someplace with that defrost. I would take the car to an AutoZone as they will code your car for free, just to make sure it has nothing to do with a sensor or the car's computer. Once you get that tested then take the car to a shop and let them find the problem. If it is a short it will only with time get worse. To the point there it will start killing the battery when the car is just sitting parked someplace. Or else you could get yourself a repair manual for your car, can be bought at any parts store for around $20.00. And a voltmeter, starting with the battery working yourself around the car till you find the short. The repair manual will tell you the right readings you should be getting off the voltmeter, if you don't get those reading then where would be your short. Hope this helps and good luck!
