Mitsubishi Repair: 2003 Lancer misfire, auto transmission, auto transmission, spark plugs

Question
Misfire in #4 cylinder.  All normal checks have been made - plugs, wires, compression, etc. No  solution to problem.  Is there something that I'm missing that is causing misfire that is not being picked up in the failure codes. Spark plugs recently changed and the #4 misfire returned after several days.

Answer
Bob: Have you checked for bad sensors? Or had your computer checked? The computer reads what the sensors tell it and then sets how the engine should run. If one sensor is weak/out then the computer does not always know this and trys to run the engine as it thinks everything is ok. You need to get yourself a repair manual for your car, it has a part in that manual all about the computer and those sensors. If you can not buy a manual for your car, then go to your library as they carry manual and you can then read up on the car there. Hope this helps and good luck!
