Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eclipse trans problem, eclipse gs, tranmission

I have a 95 Eclipse gs 5 speed that grinds when going into 3rd gear. Any idea what this is? Where can I get a breakdown of the Trans? Any info will help.  Thanks

Wayne: Go to any parts store and buy a "repair" manual for your car. They cost around $20.00 and are well worth the money. Have you tried to give the engine a bit more gas and then easy the car into gear. Or tried a bit less gas other wise you will have to check this manual for ideas. But could be something is just not set up right, and could be fixed without doing the whole tranmission. I mean if everything was a problem, I mean that you had grinds with every gear. Then you would have a larger problem. In a lot of these cars, there is one gear that has that grinding noise. But yet it is a good thing to check that out, with the repair manual.
