Mitsubishi Repair: Grinding Starter, mitsubishis, fidanza

Question
EvoIII AWD (1995 4g63 turbo Engine, w5m332upwe Gear Box)

Recently purchased car as project.  It grind at start up then but i figured it just needed a new starter.  I purchased a new clutch and flywheel (they were shot)and starter m1t70483.  The flywheel was grind up pretty good after inspection.  Installed new clutch flywheel (fidanza) and starter fired her up and still grind.  Now what.

Answer
William,
I'm not familiar with that particular vehicle, so I can only suggest the cause based on other Mitsubishis with similar engines.  What you need to do is isolate the power to the starter. When you do get it started, check for power at the trigger terminal of the starter. There should be NO voltage there.  If there is, move back in the starting system, next check the trigger wire for the solenoid. Once the key is released, there should be no power to that wire. If there is, move back from the solenoid and check the ignition wires on the the steering column.
Good luck!
