Mitsubishi Repair: park/neutral position switch, mitsubishi eclipse, position switch

I have a check engine light on, 1899 i think? Well, I know I'm suppose to change the pnp switch. I bought one, but I cant find it on my transmission. I have the official service manual for my 1996 Mitsubishi eclipse rs DOHC,2.0lt, 4cyl, 16vlv, AUTO. I LOOK AT THE DIAPHRAGM IN THE MANUAL BUT I DON'T SEE THE SWITCH ON MY CAR, DO YOU KNOW WHATS UP WITH THAT?!

Alex: I would say this is something that Mitsubishi has done so that you have to take it to their dealership to be fixed or else take it to a shop. I would go get myself another repair manual from Haynes but at any parts store for around $20.00 and see what it shows you. Sorry to say not a lot of help here, other than my books say that working on one's transmission should be left to a shop or a dealership. Hope this helps and good luck. Also Merry Christmas....
