Mitsubishi Repair: ECU, heater assembly, radio speaker

Question
I've got a good one for you. How do you get the ECU out? I've got the shop manual which is a little help. So far I have removed the radio speaker, glove box and heater duct. I've removed the two screws on the bottom of the ECU. What else is there to do? Remove the heater assembly and the dash? I hope not. I can't see the top of the ECU. Is there anything up there holding it?  Thankyou for any help. Frustrating!

Answer
Rich: If it sits close to the firewall sometimes there is a screw that comes in from the engine side into the computer, if not well then it could be it is stuck from the years of being in the car. You do not say year or miles on the car. So sometimes you need to find a strong friend and have them try pulling on the computer. Get a small mirror and look all around the computer to make sure there is nothing else holding it and then give a pull. You need not move the heater assembly and the dash. I mean if your car has miles and is of an older year, think of the years that computer has sat in that car. So try the mirror, see if it sits close enough to the firewall that there might be a screw through that holding it and if not know that there is a large plug in that you have to take the computer out from. So it will be a hard pull. You could carefully move or try to move it side to side too, that might help get it loose. Hope this helps and good luck!
