Mitsubishi Repair: no spark/ 96 montero, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor

Question
working on a freinds 96 montero he had someone do a timing belt and valve job then not finish the job. So far it is all back together but wont start due to no spark at the plugs, seems to have power at the power unit but im not real familiar with how they work.

Answer
Ash: Those timing marks are very hard to see at times. Sounds like to me, you do not have the car timed right. Or you could have a sensor out someplace. There is two sensors might causing you problems, the camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. Got a repair manual for this car? It will explain a lot of things to you. Can pick one up at most parts stores for around $20.00. Hope this helps and good luck!
