Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi colt 1.6 glxi, mitsubishi colt, bare wire

Question
I have a problem with my colt when I am driving along and change down a gear to slow down my engine cuts out and it blows a fuse under the bonnet (engine control fuse) we have tried testing the alternator for surges but found nothing I am not sure what the problem might be or how to solve it can you help

Answer
Hi Shane,

Sounds like you could have an ECU problem. If you have an auto parts store close by, you may want to see if they can scan your engine to test the sensors and the ECU. Auto Zone will do that for free. Other than that the only thing I could think of is a bare wire that's grounding out.

Good Luck!
