Mitsubishi Repair: Loud Noise, mitsubishi galant, 2000 mitsubishi galant

Hello, every time I start my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant after it has been sitting for a while it makes this awful loud screeching noise that continues for a few moment until the car heats up and it is so embarrassing.

Shyleen:My guess would be that your belt is slipping. Could be a loose belt, or it could be whatever that belt is powering is going. Could be a bearing but I would think that once it heated up, would not make it stop. So I would have the belts checked, when the belts are cold they are hard, once they warm up they get soft and so move better. I would check your power steering fluid, see if you are loosing water, as your waterpump could be getting weak or fixing to go out. Well check everything that those belts power as well as the belts too. I guess it could be even your timing belt too. You need to get the car to a shop and see what is causing this noise. As your car is trying to tell you something. Hope this helps and good luck!
