Mitsubishi Repair: 1996 galant, negative pulse, power locks

ok weird problem on my galant power windows an mirrors and locks do not work no power at all to any of the doors. "ecept front passengers door the power door lock works thats it". i have checked all fuses an links all are good anything u could tell me would be great. oh ya i checked if i had power to the switches an one wire has power no others do but when im checkin with a test light i can get the door to lock an unlock just by touchin the wire to lock it an other wire to unlock it. pritty oviouse i dont know anything about electrical anything else i am ok with.

The power locks in these cars work on a negative pulse system.  Meaning, there is always 12 volts at the lock, but when you lock or unlock the door, it does a quick 12 volt drop (voltage goes to 0 volts for an instant).  So when you touched to wires together, that probably cause the negative pulse to happen and then you saw the door unlock.

The problem is most likely a faulty switch in the lock/mirror control switch in the drivers doors.  You can have a mechanic inspect and replace the switch if necessary.
