Mitsubishi Repair: Mits starting problem, auto zone, autozone

Question
I just purchased a used Eclipse for my daughter. Each morning we have to boost it off to start. Auto zone checked the battery and said it was good. One day the clock was not working or the radio would not change channels but the car was running. Last night when she boosted it off, she said it made a noise and smoked popped out of the exhaust. What in the world? It drives good, no noises, just this starting problem.

Answer
Tam:Sounds like a bad cable to me on the battery, you should replace both of them. You could check the wiring in the starting circuit. You need to get a manual for your car, you can get one at AutoZone and around $20.00 for that. And you can read up on your car, it will give you ideas what to check. Even if you go to a shop it will help you understand whatever the shop tells you about the car too. Hope this helps and good luck!
