Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 Mitsubishi diamante burns oil and makes smoke, negative battery cable, mitsubishi diamante

Question
I have two problems with my 94 diamante LS dohc 3.0v car.
The first and most annoying thing is that it burns oil and smokes like crazy when i drive under 35 mph. Usually when i drive faster it does not, or it may be that i cant see the smoke. I do not know what this problem is caused from, and i would like to fix it.
the other problem i have is that the antilock brake light is on and does not turn of. i had it checked by a mechanic and he told me that he could not figure it out what it was, after he checked the brake system cleaned the sensors etc. the brakes seem to work fine but the antilock light has been on for more than 8 months.
Please let me know what the problems with my car may be
thanks

Answer
Orion:The burning of oil to me sounds like you need to have your engine overhauled. In the way of new piston rings and work on your valves. Because you have to much blow by, so your engine is burning oil so the smoking. The antilock brake light, most likely needs to be reset. Try taking the negative battery cable off for 5 minutes and see if the computer will stop the light. If not then there might still be something wrong, such as with a sensor. I did not know you could clean them, I always replaced them. So one of those sensors might be bad even if your brakes are working just fine. Or it could even be the light too, you did not say how many miles is on your car and sometimes these older car have odd things about them. Hope this helps and good luck.
