Mitsubishi Repair: Windshield washer motor not working, windshield wiper motor, windshield washer motor

Question
Linda, my windshield wiper motor stopped working. I checked all the fuses and all okay. I have power at the plug. I thought the motor was bad so I replaced it. The new motor didn't work either. I made a jumper, connected to battery and both motors started to spinned. The problem appears to be with the switch at the steering column. Would I have to replace the entire switch? Or is there a relay or something else that I need to check?

All fuses work and power is getting to the motor via factory

Answer
J.R.:I maybe should have passed on this as I really don't work on this much. But in my book I did find there is a relay for the intermittent wiper. Call the intermittent wiper relay. I have found when working with these relays, they often control more things than their name. There is also in my book a wiring diagrm showing a circuit breaker did you check that. Oh wait though you said there is power if you just run it through to the battery. You could just put in another switch on your own and forget the one in the car. Or you could replace the entire switch in your car. You did not say the year of the car or the miles. But I guess I would say it is your switch and it will have to be replaced. You should buy a repair book on your car too. :o) Hope this helps and good luck!
