Mitsubishi Repair: fuel pump removal, mitsubishi eclipse, seat cushions

i have a 1995 mitsubishi eclipse rs and i need to know how i can remove the fuel pump in it.... is there a spot in the trunk that i can get to it? or do i have to drop the tank?   thanks alot for helpin me out...

There is no need to drop the tank to access the fuel pump.  I believe on your car, the fuel pump is located under the rear passenger side seat.  You should be able to remove the rear seat cushions to be able to access the pump without much dfficulty.

If you decide to do this job yourself, I highly recommend you get a service manual for your car unless you have a lot of experience working on fuel systems.  Beause you're dealing with gasoline that can be under high pressures, it can be very dangerous.  So take all necessary precautions.
