Mitsubishi Repair: Leak inside auto at A/C unit and fan, mitsubishi outlander, screw driver

Question
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander.  I noticed two days ago that the floor on the passenger side is soaked.  Driving it today, you can hear water sloshing under the dash.  I looked at the fan blower motor and there is water leaking from it and the white plastic unit directly in the middle of the dash at the firewall.  My question is, does the fan blower motor expel water from the system and can something be blocked for so much water to build up within the system?

Answer
SN,
Your problem is that your evaporator drain tube for your A/C system is plugged and not letting the water to drip outside.  If you've been running your A/C regularly throughout the summer, water will build up around your heater core because your A/C evaporator is located in the same area.  As the warm air around your evaporator condenses, water accumulates and needs a place to drain.

It's not uncommon for a drain tube to get clogged, and you most likely just need to have it unclogged.  Any mechanic that has a small screw driver (or air gun) and about 10 minutes should easily be able to fix this issue. But have it looked as soon as possible so the accumlated water does not cause other problems by sitting in your heater core housing.
Good luck!
