Nissan Repair: 1990 Nissan 240SX instrument cluster, 1990 nissan 240sx, nissan 240sx

Question
I need to pull the old cluster out.  How do I do this?

Answer
Roger,

To pull the cluster you will have to remove the upper screws and pull the cluster finishing cover off.  Then, there are four screws that hold the cluster to dash.  Remove them and pull the cluster straight out and reach behind and unplug the connectors.  Sometimes it is easier to remove the knee bolster, under the steering wheel, and remove the two bolts that hold the steering column up to get more room in getting the cluster out.  Be sure to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery if you are going to drop the column since there is an airbag.  After disconnecting the battery wait five minutes to let the capacitors to bleed down for the airbag.
