Mitsubishi Repair: car stalls when warm, coolant temperature sensor, mass air sensor

Question
I have a 93 eclipse,1.8,GS,manual. I actually have two problems I hope you can help me with. The first one is when I start my car with a cool engine the rpm's are only at 600. Then when the car warms up it idles at 1200. Problem two is that when the car warms up it just stalls(idle or driving). I let it sit for two minutes, then it starts right back up. I then can drive it for about fifteen minutes and it dies again. Then I drive-sit-drive-sit. I've already put $1400 to get the car driving, not counting the price I paid for the car. If you can please help me.

Answer
Jason,
Your problem may be caused by a faulty Idle Speed Controller, a malfunctioning engine coolant temperature sensor, or a malfunctioning Mass Air Sensor.  You didn't mention what was done with that $1400 in repairs to get the car running, so I can only guess as to what was wrong with it before.

Another item that should be checked is your car's computer.  Read this article for further information:

If your ECU is faulty, it can cause strange and intermittent problems like the ones you're experiencing.  Have those items checked if you haven't already.
Good luck!
