Mitsubishi Repair: charging system, battery cables, mighty max

Question
I have a '92 mighty max 2.4l manual transmission. It has had a stalling problem.I have changed the alternator and battery and had both checked to make sure they were good but after installing both the pickup would run great for a little while but then it would stall and would not even turn over again. I took the battery back to have it checked again and it was "good" but dead so i had it charged and put it back in the truck and drove it to the parts place where they checked the alternator again and said it was good. so why is it not charging the battery. When checked with a meter it is putting out 16V.

Answer
Karen,
There definitely sounds like there's a short circuit or poor ground going from the alternator to the battery.  There may even be a poor connection from the battery to the starter motor.  The battery cables may need to be replaced as well.  Have your mechanic inspect the connections from the battery to the alternator and starter.
Good luck!
