Mitsubishi Repair: Eclipse Throttle Cable, engine throttle, throttle cable

Question
Darndest thing.  I backed out of my carport today, knocked it out of gear, let the engine warm up for a moment, then slid it into first.  All of the sudden, I can't press the gas pedal down.  The throttle cable just siezed up.  The engine throttle works fine.  I unhooked the throttle cable from the engine, and gave it a nice tug.  Nothing.  Locked tight as can be.

Any advice?  Or, words of wisdom on how to replace it if I have to do that?

Thanks!

Answer
This is a tricky one...try banging on the pedal! Check all joints of the pedal make sure that its just not in a bind somewhere. Check cable for any binds also..Tell you the truth Chad I have never came across this problem before, or changed one out..but I can tell you that the Repair manual that you can get at auto zone is a great thing to have on things like this, and should aid you on repair!

Good Luck!
