Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Limited 3.5L P0401 and P0403, mitsubishi montero, egr system

Hi, this vehicle has both po401 and po403 trouble codes. 401 says insufficient flow. 403 says EGR solenoid. Bad or clogged solenoid or replace EGR valve? Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed response.  Emissions codes usually point to a specific component (like the EGR system) that's the problem.  But sometimes, a series of codes may reflect something which doesn't have it's own sensor.  In some cases, these codes can be due to a loose gas cap.  That would be the easiest fix, but if you actually have a problem with the EGR valve, than you'll want a mechanic to inspect and test the valve to make sure it's functioning properly, and replace if necessary.
