Mitsubishi Repair: 97 Mitshubishi Mirage LS 1.8 Auto, tps sensor, cap cap

I don't know if this is a problem or not, but while driving the car and you let off the accelerator the car when it shifts from 3rd to 2nd it seems to down shift hard. You don't feel any down shift from 4th to 3rd so is this normal? Also I seen somewhere that it could be the TPS sensor is this possible?

This may be normal.  Though if you've had the car for a while and it seems to progressively get worse, then there could be problem.  You may just need a tune-up.  A clogged air filter, clogged fuel filter, worn plug & plug wires, distributor cap, cap rotor, or even a stretched timing belt can cause this.  It's possible a bad TPS could cause this, but a bad TPS would cause other problems as well.  You may want to consider having the transmission fluid flushed and the filter replaced, along with clean tranny fluid.  This may help your hard shifting.
