Mitsubishi Repair: 3geclipse questions, clutch replacements, clutch fluid

Question
i have a 00 eclipse v6 and have around 70k miles on my car. when i drive my trans slips and i was wondering if it was most likely a fluid issue or time to replace my clutch. i had a tune up at 36k but im not sure if they changed my trans and clutch fluids. could that cause what is happening

Answer
Daniel,
Rarely does any mechanic ever change the clutch fluid, but it's a good idea to have it done every few years.  This practice should also be done with brake fluid.

But if your clutch has 80,000 miles on it or more, it's probably time for a change.  And when they do replace the clutch, you can insist they also change the tranny fluid and clutch fluid.  Clutch replacements are not cheap, but their worth it.  Consider having the dealership do this job for you if you do not have confidence that your regular mechanic can handle it.
Good luck!
