Mitsubishi Repair: Crank Bolt, mitsubishi engine, lebaron

Question
I have an '89 LeBaron w/2.5 turbo engine. I'm trying to get the crank bolt out to replace the timing belt. How much torque was used to install and is it clockwise or counter clockwise to remove.

Answer
Jeff,
I believe the 2.5L engine in your LeBaron is a Chrysler-made engine.  The turbocharger itself may be Mitsubishi, but not the engine.  The only LeBaron model that year to have a Mitsubishi engine, I believe, was the 3.0L V6.

From my experience, the crankshaft spins clockwise, so to remove the bolt, it would have to come off counterclockwise; like most any bolt.  The torque on the crank bolt is probably between 90-120 ft-lbs.  But you may want to ask the Chrysler expert on this site (if there is one) to confirm.
Good luck!
