Mitsubishi Repair: horn wont blown when alarm is activated, eclipse spyder gt, there some kind

Question
I have a 2001 Mit Eclipse Spyder GT Conv 6cyl, 24 valve, auto/manual trans.  I'm not sure at what point but the horn no longer blows when you engage the alarm system.  Thinking it may be the horn itself I tried blowing it and works just fine.  The lights still blink and the alarm still works in every other way.  Is there some kind of reset that maybe I can try? Thanks

Answer
Monica,
If this is the factory alarm system, the first thing I would do is check your owners manual to see if they mention any troubleshooting remedies for your alarm system.  Unfortunately, I do not know the procedure for your particular car, but most factory alarms have a key fob button combination you can push to disable/enable the horn from sounding when you engage/disengage the car alarm.  You should also try to actually set off the alarm (or push the Panic button on your key fob) to verify your horn is working in that respect.  If your horn is working when the alarm is triggered, then you may have just accidently disabled the horn from blowing when you engage/disenage your alarm.

If the owners manual is no help, and this is a factory alarm, you may have luck contacting the service department at your local dealership and ask if they are aware of the procedure to reactivate the horn again.
Good luck!
