Mitsubishi Repair: 1997 Eclipse Spyder electrical..., internal engine components, eclipse spyder

Question
Hello... I have a 1997 Eclipse convertible, automatic, non-turbo, and it was working fine until last night, I was driving to work and it turned off, but I still had power on everything except the engine, but the lights on the dash panel...check engine light, SRS and all those lights were off, so I checked the fuses on the engine and one of the big ones, 30A (pink color) was blown, so I got another one and replaced it, everything went back to normal but when you try to start it again, it blows the fuse again. Is this something about some loose cable or something, because everything else is working perfect. Please I need some help 'cause this is my only way to move to work...Thanks a lot !!!

Answer
Charlie,
When that fuse continues to blow, that typically means your car's computer is detecting a problem you with your fuel pump.  The computer does not want the car to even attempt to run if there is no fuel supply because that can cause detonation, and that can result in damaged internal engine components.

You'll need to have your mechanic inspect and replace your fuel pump if necessary.
Good luck!
