Mitsubishi Repair: Roaring noise while driving, forward gears, motero

Question
2000 Motero Sport, Automatic
When I am driving, I hear a some what loud roaring noise. It almost sounds like it could be the transmission. I have check fluids and it changes out correctly into all forward gears. Still cannot find problem. Do you have any knowlege of what would make sound. My brother says it is just the way the Montero sounds. Thanks for any help. hakery1055@charter.net

Answer
Herman,
It may just be the way your transmission sounds.  But if you've been driving the car for a while and you recently started noticing the noise, you should have to checked out by a certified transmission shop.  It may not even turn out to be the transmission, but it's better to be safe than sorry.  If you have never had a transmission fluid and filter change within the last 60,000 miles, you may want to consider doing so.
Good luck!
