Mitsubishi Repair: 1999 Eclipse Spyder GS, manual, eclipse spyder, high beams

Question
After washing my car the other day I turned on the headlights only to have them come on for a split second and then nothing. My high beams and fog lights are still working so I figured it was a fuse or relay. I swapped out fuse and relay under the hood marked headlamps and still nothing. I can hear what I am guessing is the relay click when I turn the switch to on. Any ideas what the problem could be. Is it possible that something could have blown both bulbs  simultaenously? Thanks

Answer
Craig,
It is possible to blow the low-beam filaments in both bulbs.  There may have been moisture build up on one bulb, and it could have blown.  That can cause a large power surge to the other bulb, and it can blow as well.  Hopefully, simply replacing both the bulbs will remedy your problem.  Aside from that, it could be a malfunctioning headlight switch.  But I would guess it's just a bulb problem.
Good luck!
