There is no Service Manual for a 2001 Montero sport 3.0 2WD.  Sorry, please answer this one.  How do I install a new oil pump?

There are so many steps involved in a job like that, that even I knew off the top of my head how to do it on a Montero, it would take too long to type up.  It's a very time consuming job, and if you've never replaced a timing belt before yourself, then you'll have much difficulty attempting to install a new oil pump.

But there are service manuals out there. And for a job like that, I would highly recommend getting the factory service manual.  You can order one through any Mitsubishi dealership.  In fact, your owners manual may even mention how to order one yourself.  Another good source for finding available service manuals for your Montero is eBay.  Do a quick search on that site, and I can almost guarantee you'll find a few.
