Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi shogun, mitsubishi shogun, nutral

Question
i have a 2800 diseal turbo shogun pajero when i am driving down the road it will occasionally loose power for no reason and cut out. even if i take it out of drive so it is in nutral and put the accelerator to the floor it still cuts out. restarting seems to take a few minutes even though the engine is turning over fast.

Answer
John,
I know very little about the diesel pajero since it was never sold in the States.  But when driving down hill, since everything is shifted towards the front of the car, it may be causing excess fuel flow to get to the engine, which could be causing flooding or prevent enough fuel from being picked up by the fuel pump.  This could also explain the inability to start restart immediately afterwards.  You should have a mechanic examine this better to prevent anything more serious from happening.
Good luck!
