Mitsubishi Repair: Fuel Dlivery, mass air sensor, camshaft sensor

Question
When You Start The Car, the fuel pump relay kicks back off and the car stalls. I have changed the computer and relay and also fuel pump. I have also checked the wiring and connections. I have lost about 75% of my hair. Please advise.                                              !992 Eclipse 2.0 NO turbo fwd  auto

Answer
Jim,
Sounds like you already replaced some of the critical components that might be causing your problem.

But a couple more items that can cause this problem are a malfunctioning mass air sensor, or even if your timing is off.  This could also be caused by a bad camshaft sensor.  If your car's computer does not sense enough air flowing past your mass air sensor, it will switch off your fuel pump to prevent flooding.  And if your computer senses your camshaft is not in the correct position, it will not allow your car to start to prevent your cylinders from slamming into your valves.

But if when you turn your key, and the engine does not even attempt to turn over, that would indicate a bad starter.  I don't think you mentioned whether or not your engine would even crank.

Check those items and hopefully you'll be able to find the cause of your problem in your diagnostic.
Good luck!
