Mitsubishi Repair: 92 Mirage auto, 1.5, cv joint, cheap radio

Question
I just bought a used 92 mirage and it is making a clunking sound on the front end drivers side when I hit a bump. What could that be?  Also it has no radio, can you tell me what kind of cheap radio I can get just to listen to the radio that will fit?  Thank you very much no one else has been able to answer these questions so hopefully you can.

Answer
Connie,
The clunking noise is probably a worn suspension part.  This could include your strut, coil spring, lower ball joint, tie-rod, or possibly your CV joint.  It's best to have a mechanic check it out to pinpoint the exact problem.  Odds are if one of those components is weak on one side, it's probably ready to give out on the other side as well.  On a 13 year old car, it's not uncommon to replace any of these items.  They do take a lot of abuse and will wear out eventually.

As for a radio, most any major electronics store will have a radio that will fit your car.  Some may be as cheap as $40.  Places like Best Buy and Circuit City typically offer free installation as well.  If you have one of those stores in your area, go check them out to see what they have.
Good luck!
