Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubushi 3000GT ABS question, amp fuse, mitsubishi dealership

Question
I also have a 94 3000GT VR4 6 speed which is having the same problem you wrote about with the ABS motor staying on after the ignition is cut off.

This problem occured months ago but just went away by itself but now it is not going away.  Since the motor would drain the battery I have pulled the 60 amp fuse that runs the ABS system.

Did you ever get an update from "Tom" as to getting his car fixed?  If so what did he do to repair this problem?  I have priced the ABS modulator for the car and the best price is around $2500.  An 11 yr old car is not worth putting that much into.  If the modualtor is bad I will just leave the fuse out for good and pull the ABS bulb out of my dash to get rid of the light.  If a repair can be done at a reasonable cost then I'm all for it.

I would have contacted Tom directly but his email is not made public on this site.

Answer
Ash,
You are actually the third person to ask this exact same question on almost the identical year of 3000GT.

Unfortunately, neither Tom nor the other 3000GT owner with the same problem ever got back to me as to how they fixed it, how much it cost, or if they even got it fixed.  I'm not allowed to see the email addresses either, so I'm unable to give you any contact information.  It is a very expensive fix and it's up to you if you want that added safety functionality.

Also, back in 1996, Mitsubishi issued a 'Front Brake Hose Replacement' safety recall for your car. I'd recommend calling your local Mitsubishi dealership, have your VIN handy, and ask if this recall has been performed on your car. If it has not, you can take it to the dealership to have them replace the hose for free; regardless of warranty. There is also the slim chance that the replacement hose would fix your problem.
Good luck!
