RV Repair: onan generator, fuel stabilizer, happy camping

Question
I had a problem recently with my Onan generator surging. I ask for a fix on this site and was told by the expert that his did the same thing and he could not fix it. I searched the web and finally figured out that it is normally caused by fuel varnishing in the carb. I took the fuel line loose from the generator and put it in a 5 gal can of gas with a double dose of injector cleaner and let it run till all 5 gal was gone---FIXED -- runs like new once again. Just for your info.

Thanks, George

Answer
George,
I can believe that.  I saw some answers on here that were not very good, that is why I started volunteering my time to try and provide some better ones.  To prevent a future occurrence of the same problem you need to exercise your genset once a month.  Start it and let it warm up then run it for a couple of hours under load.  I would also recommend adding a fuel stabilizer to your fuel tank.  If you have any more problems with your RV feel free to ask me.  Happy Camping.
