Mitsubishi Repair: SRS Light, cell phone charger, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
it's a 97 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0L GST, manual. I put on a turbo timer for my car and every since i did so my SRS light has been on and im not sure what's causing it. I can't find the SRS fuse anywhere it's not labeled on the fuse box. That's the only thing i've checked so far and i need some help. Any information you can find to help me would be great. Thanks.

Answer
Brandon,
Your SRS system is extremely sensitive.  My wife's Honda's SRS light comes on when it's very cold outside and you put a cell phone charger in the cigarette lighter plug.

Depending on where you chose your 12V source and ground point for your turbo timer, it may be causing a power spike in your SRS system.  If the SRS system detects the slighest difference in its power tolerance, that will trip the SRS light.  The SRS light also comes on when the SRS sensor detects a resistance value which is not correct. The SRS module senses low voltage and then trips the light.

You may want to try an alternate 12V source to tap into for your turbo timer and/or find a new ground point.  The wires used for your SRS system are wrapped in plastic yellow conduit or yellow tape.  Stay as far away as you can from any of these wires.

Unfortunately, I don't know of a quick way to reset your SRS light.  If there's no procedure in your owners manual (which there typically isn't for most cars) you may have to take a trip to dealership to have them reset it for you.
Good luck!
