Mitsubishi Repair: diamante repair, intake manifold gasket, air plenum

Question
Do you have any experience with the v-6 in the Diamante?  I have a 1999.  When you change the back three spark plugs do you have to remove the air plenum or is there an easier way?

Answer
Joe,
Yes, you will need to remove the air plenum to reach the back three plugs.  It's not too difficult, just keep track of where all the bolts and hoses attach to.  Be careful of the intake manifold gasket that you do not twist of ding it.  If you do, you'll have to replace it.  Once the plenum is off, now is a good time to give it a good cleaning with some carb cleaner.  Clean out each one of the runners.  You'll be surprised at how much dirt comes out.  May gain you back a little more power as well.
Good luck!
