Auto body repair & detailing: 2003 Acura, acura rsx, macco

Question
--Hi! Thanks for the quick reply. The car is black. The dent is about 6 inches from the bottom of the door just about in the middle. There is no molding on the door. The SUV that the people he saw in the parking lot was white and that is what the scrape was like- white scraped. It looks like they took the edge of their car door and slammed it into his door. Can't believe people are so rotten! Thanks for your reply John -----------------------

My son has a 2003 Acura RSX and someone must have slammed their car door into the drivers side door. He thinks that it may have been malacious mischief as right before it happened, someone who looked drunk said something to him in the parking lot which he ignored. When he came out, there was this dent/ding on the side of his door. It looks like a scrape about 6 inches wide. He put some paint on it but it still shows. Do you know if this might be covered under our comprehensive auto coverage as it seems to be mischief? About how much does it cost to repair such a scrape? Does the whole door have to be removed, etc? We are in central NJ. Thanks

what color is it. is the dent in the middle of the door top of the door back part or bottom. is there any moulding on it door. yes your comp should cover it but you will have the deductible to pay. norm. 500.00 so it may be just as chep or cheaper to get a price at a local bodyshop . a good one not like macco. as your local dealer. for rec's . to bad your not near atlantic city . our body shop is 6 miles from there .. just guessing without knowing all the info and seeing it your somewhere around 300.00 i would guess
i hope this helps

Answer
in this case black is good . their is a good chance you can have what we call a spot repair done to it. this is where you only repair the spot that is damaged and don't have to paint the hole door. but it may need hole door painted if they say (any body shop) we have to paint the fender and 1/4 to.they are wrong. black does not require any blend panels. ask around .don't  go to your first place or ask your ins comp for a ref. ins companys only rec . good shop's in good standing with them. and that shop must have no come back's or bad ref. to keep ins comp.to ref cust.  hope this helps you. good luck
