Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 dodge colt ,es, auto, dodge colt, dash lights

I know this a mitsubisi site but I was hoping you could help me.(similar to a mitsubishi miage) When I turn on my headlights, nothing comes on at the rear of the car. When I step on the brake my dash lights and the lights at the rear of the car come on. What is my problem?

I know on some Mitusbishis, that can occur, and that means there is a brake light or other tail light that's burned out.  
Check all your rear bulbs to see if any are burnt out.
You should also check all your fuses to be sure known are blown.
