Mitsubishi Repair: ALTORNATOR, mitsubishi galant, improper installation

I JUST REPLACED A BURNT ALTORNATOR.  NOW IT JUST BURNED UP THE OTHER ONE WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF EACH OTHER.  WHAT IS WRONG? IT IS A 91 MITSUBISHI GALANT.

Hi Kevin,

Sounds of though you have a circuit charging problem which leads to this problem,Burnt" or overdrawn alternators are NOT ... the fault of the unit, this is due to improper installation or bad ignition switch which also effects the starter. You will need a voltage regulator to test the wire harness that plugs into the alternator that could be the problem there..goodluck
