Mitsubishi Repair: Eclipse Power Steering Fluid, automatic transmission fluid, atf dexron

Question
I have a 1995 Eclipse, manual transmission (5 speed).  In my owners manual it indicates to use 'Automatic Transmission Fluid - Dexron II' under the power steering fluid section.  I have looked everywhere for Dexron II and cannot find it.  I bought some Valvoline Max Life ATF Dexron III at Discount Auto Parts yesterday, but they told me that they wouldn't use that in my car.  Unfortunately, they didn't have any suggestions either.  Hoping you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Answer
Cory,
I probably would not risk using a Dexron III ATF in my power steering pump either.  I have no idea if it would cause a problem, but I would avoid it.  I would recommend, however, to just use a regular power steering fluid.  Almost every store sells power steering fluid.  Your power steering pump should not need anything more special than that.  So if you still have the receipt for that Dexron III fluid you bought, return it and get yourself a bottle of regular power steering fluid.  You should be fine with that.
Good luck!
