Mitsubishi Repair: front end shake, wheel studs, wheel balancing

Question
I own a 1994 diamante, at around 65 mph I notice a front end shaking, at 70 mph or above it is less noticible, what is the problem could it be stripped wheel studs?

Answer
Brian,
If you had a broken or stripped wheel stud, there's a good chance you'd feel the shaking even at lower speeds.  The most common cause to your problem is an unbalanced wheel.  I'd recommend you first check your tire pressure.  If your tire pressure is too low or even too high, your balance could be thrown off.

If that doesn't help, take your car to a wheel balancing mechanic and have them check your suspension and balance your wheels.  Wheels can become off balance for many reasons.  A bad ball joint or a misalignment from a bad tie-rod can cause your balance to be thrown off.  Your mechanic will be able to tell exactly what's causing your problem.
Good luck!
