Mitsubishi Repair: engine surging, whitwell tn, mitsubishi precis

1992 mitsubishi, precis 3 door,manual. engine hesitating or surging on accelleration, started all at once, at idle. thanks for any help.

The common cause of idle surge is a malfunctioning Idle Air Control (IAC) motor.  A couple regular maintenace items you should replaced as well are your PCV valve, air filter, and fuel filter.  Your EGR valve may need to be cleaned.  

It may be time for you to get a full tune-up.  This may even include a timing belt replacement if it's been over 60,000 since your last one.
