Toyota Repair: Toyota Corrolla 2001, toyota corrolla, carbon deposits

Question
My 2001 Corrolla has just over 115K miles on it.  Oil changed every 5000 - 6000 miles.  My question is: After starting the car I put in reverse with no problem but when I put in drive and put down the gas pedal the car sputters forward. If I let the car warm up and put the gas pedal down a couple of times then go it has no problems.  What could be causing this, one mechanic said it was my transmission but I have not problems once I get going.

Answer
It could as simple as cleaning the inside of the throttle body using a can of spray intake cleaner and a brush, there is usually a lot of carbon deposits inside that can cause a power loss at low speeds and even idle problems, see if the mechanic can do this and let me know if this takes care of it.
