Mitsubishi Repair: ignition, yard car, first signs

Question
1990 mirage, 1.5L SOHC, auto.
No spark.  Windings in coil show resistances within spec.
12 v present at primary terminals with key on.
Replaced distributor (from junk yard).
Car functioned well for 36 hrs, then no start - no spark again.

If your ECU shows evidence of corrosion due to leaking capacitors, it will need to be replaced.  Pull your ECU out and inspect it.  It's should be located under your dash, most likely behind your radio.  Unexplained and sudden inability to start are the first signs of a dying ECU.  Check that first before spending any more money on replacements.
