my tranmission on my 2002 lancer oz rally edition
grinds on third gear when i shift but only in high rpms. why?

Sounds like you have one or more synchronizers that may have failed.  If your tranny is still stock, this should be covered under your drivetrain warranty that came with your car (5 year/60,000 miles).  Verify that the fix will be covered by your warranty with the dealership before you let them work on it.
