Motorcycle Repair: makeing front brake switch work, honda street, line switches

if i block one side of my dual brake switch and just use the other side will my brake light still work.

Edward, it would have been so helpful for you to tell me what the heck you are working on.

Honda street bikes use a front brake lever-operated switch (hydraulic or micro-switch, depending on application) and a separate rear brake switch, so whenever you use either brake the brake light will operate.

The brake switches are just that... in-line switches. You need a line for power in and a line for returning power to the light. Break the connection and it stops operating. Switches can be inline or a grounded type to activate the light, but almost all of them are inline.
