Mitsubishi Repair: 90 Galant - No Spark., compression check, different computer

Question
90 Galant 2.0 SOHC AUTO Car died while driving last summer. Would not start. Had spark. Changed the computer, but no spark now, but fuel pump is working, which did not before. Replaced coil, nothing. Input voltage to coil ok. Reordered a different computer since first one was remanufactured. Questions is, is that darn distributor the problem after all? The cap and rotor changed. The rest is ok.
Thanks,
mike

Answer
Mike,
I would bet your distributor is the overall problem.  Since you already confirmed your coil is fine and you changed your car's computer, it's good possibility it is your distributor.  If you're still on your original distrubtor, 14+ years is a long life.

You may even want to get a compression check on your engine to make sure it's within spec.  That will give you peace of mind that the engine itself is in good working order.
Good luck!
